The web 2.0 site that I found by looking under jobs was really neat. You just searched for the category of job that you were interested in and give the location you needed. The site provided you with a list of jobs in your community that were open in that category. This would be a nice tool for the new job services that we are going to open shortly. The site was called careerbuilder.com

I found delicious to be an interesting and helpful site. One of my hobbies is wood carving and I found a whole list of sites to explore. I will certainly make personal use of this web site.
Some thoughts about twitter. I can't see why in the world I would want to post my activity all the time. Unless I was doing something really unusual I would not think that anyone would be interested. It looks like a good site for children to play on.

I have been reading about "twitter" and I have decided to post a little bit about my interests. I am interested in music especially playing the piano and organ. My other main hobby is woodcarving. A group of fellows meets every week to carve all sorts of things. I prefer caricatures for my carvings. I have been doing this for three years. My best work is a couple of Father Christmas carvings from cypress knees.

Every other week I take piano lessons at a nearby university. It is not for college credit, but just for my own edification and for playing at church occassionally. I play all sorts of music from classical to modern jazz.
I liked the library thing blog, but I could not get it to give me a suggested list. I posted at least twenty preferences and still it did not give me anything. However, the places that I could brouse for book titles especially the U. of Michigan was very helpful.

I like the weather web site. It gives you the big picture on the weather as well as the local temperature and 10 day forcast.

Library Thing is a great idea. I have posted 12 books that I have read or that I am interested in reading. I am anxiouly waiting for the recommended reading list. I think that library patrons would be interested in knowing about this site.

rss feeds

I don't find any use for them personally, but they are neat! I would like to be able to have time to set up a lot of rss feeds and then it might be helpful. I wish we didn't have to deal with the new vocabulary like "rss feeds." It is confusing to me.

My Thermostat

This week I did something any twelve year old could do. I replaced the thermostat on my furnace. There were four colors of wire and about twelve places that they could be connected. After about a half hour I found out that the wires went in the side bottom of the boxes on the back plate of the thermostat. I had already put little stickers on each wire to tell which letter receptacle they went to. It only took me ten minutes to finish-voila!

Very Playful Site. Might be good for a theme for an activity or something.

First Post 71/2 Habits

Ithink that the easiest habit is to keep on learning. The hardest would be to keep up with new technology.

Technology always seems to come with a new vocabulary that doesn't mean anything to the novice. It is always difficult for me to navigate something new.
